Workplaces are not immune from polarization in society.  Conflict is on the rise in the workplace with current events and the political landscape. In addition to disruption in the workplace, these conflicts may intersect with protected classifications such as religion, race, LGBTQ+ identity, and national origin and will only accelerate in an election year.  Employers must find effective strategies to lower the temperature, minimize legal risk, stay true to the company’s values, and stay focused on the business.  Join us as we explore a variety of real-life scenarios where we will provide you with the tools to handle these situations in the workplace effectively.

Terry Cook and Tom Jones will be joined by Dawn Solowey and Emily Miller of Seyfarth Shaw LLP where we will lead a discussion on these issues, including:
  1. Strong opinions on current events.
  2. Political tension in the workplace as we approach an election year.
  3. Practical tips for helping to navigate these conflicts
  4. How to develop a consistent approach that aligns with your company’s values and objectives;
  5. What you need to know about off-duty conduct and political expression
